Which observable constructs describe the health of a two-sided platform, and how sensitive are decisions to metric selection, normalisation, weights, and aggregation level?
Candidate constructs
Liquidity availability, matching quality, reliability, participation quality, and sustainable economics. Each construct must be operationalised separately before aggregation.
Method
Compare z-scores, min–max scaling, percentiles, distance-to-target, and model-based residuals. Test alternative weights, leave-one-metric-out specifications, rank reversal, compensability, segment masking, and correlated inputs using data labelled as illustrative until real permissioned data exists.
Non-claims
The proposed index would not establish causality, forecast revenue without a separate model, or identify the intervention required to improve a weak component.
